Marlon Delweste: Digital Manager
Marlon Delweste began his work at Slate in 2006.
Marlon Delweste was born in the Philippines, and it was there that he earned his degree in mechanical engineering. After finishing his education, he explored several different industries until he eventually fell in love with Print. He enjoys creating diverse projects, making sure that every individual piece excels based on its unique attributes. “Every job,” he says, “presents an opportunity to grow.”
That opportunity is something that we’ve seen Marlon seize time and again. When he joined us at Slate in 2006, he began working as an offset Pressman. He and his wife had recently moved to the United States (she had just received a job at University Medical Center), and Marlon intended to continue working in the Print industry.
Beginning as a night operator on our 5-Color press, Marlon’s skill and effort were readily apparent. He soon became the Press Operator for our Indigo digital press. Marlon kept building on his experience by attending numerous training seminars and mastering not only the function of the presses but the mechanics behind them as well. Marlon represents the drive and talent that we look for at Slate Group, and we take pride in his growth and the dedication he has to his craft.
In his spare time, Marlon enjoys playing basketball and golf — he’s the captain of the Slate Group Basketball Team — and engages in the art of carpentry when he can. Whether it’s in the shop, on the court, or in the press room, Marlon is a creator, and we’re lucky to have him be a vital part of our team.
